Each year, thousands of people set out from their home country in search of a better life. Educators and mentors are essential for their success. Our Advanced Graduate Certificate (AGC) in Immigrant and Refugee Education prepares you to help immigrants and refugees transition to their new lives and guide them to the opportunities they seek.
This advanced program is designed for educators with a master’s degree who already have some experience with immigrant and refugee education. In the 18-credit-hour program, you’ll develop an understanding of cultures around the globe and the challenges facing those transitioning to a foreign land. You’ll learn techniques, tools and educational philosophies that will help you guide immigrants to an understanding of their new society and how to learn in it. After earning your AGC, you’ll be encouraged to assume advocacy roles, to participate in professional organizations and to contribute to professional conferences and publications. Apply today.
