A disability doesn’t define a student. Curiosity and a desire to discover are what make a true student. With a master’s degree in Special Education from Webster University, you’ll be able to better understand the developmental, emotional and educational needs of these students so you can help them be their brightest.
Our NCATE- and DESE-accredited program allows you to individualize your professional development by specializing in a unique area of study. Choose from inclusive education, mild/moderate disabilities, severe developmental disabilities, emotional & behavioral disorders or Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS).
We emphasize developmentally-oriented theory and research in the areas of cognitive and socio-emotional development. You’ll be able to put this knowledge to practical use in one of our partner school districts as you design evidence-based programs and instructional practices in an actual classroom. You’ll also explore current and emerging trends including social justice and ethical issues.
